Wythall Library’s young readers….

Harry age 10  Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy
Skulduggery Pleasant is important to me because it got me into reading but most of all creative writing. After reading it, I was inspired to write my own short story.

Sophia age 9 Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney
I love this book because when I was little when I could not go to sleep and my mum read it to me so I could go to sleep.

Libby age 9 The Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore
This book is so special to me because every year on Christmas Eve my daddy reads this book to me after we have put the things out for Santa and the Reindeer. I find the pictures unbelievably pretty and I think they look so unreal!

A book in the Life of….

fedtedTaylor

Contribution from Taylor, Christopher Whitehead Language College.  This book has influenced me and comforted me by putting the meaning and all the emotions of a loved ones passing into words I could finally understand.  In the book Tim Bowler writes about the main character’s worries about their passing loved one. It also talks about how she lets her loved ones spirit go and it made me feel normal about the mixed emotions about when my Nan passed away- making me like the old me again.

A Book in the Life of Chloe… Year 8

Contribution from  Woodrush High School,  This book inspired me because even though you’re not confident in speaking up, there is a different voice out there for you. The main character is very much like me, scared to speak up when someone says something e.g. about my hair. It has given me the confidence to speak up for myself.
